Short Biography

Lorraine Coffey was born in Dublin (Ireland) on 6th January 1970. She was an international athlete and excelled in her chosen sport of javelin until an injury left her disabled for a period of time. It was after a life-changing experience that Lorraine first started to paint and write and she, along with her husband, founded the permanent exposition of her works "The Angel Art Sanctuary". First in Ireland and from 2007 until 2015 in the south of France, the Gallery has welcomed tens of thousands of people who came to experience its unique and abiding atmosphere.
In April 2015 Lorrie became ill whilst living in France, which resulted in a decision to close the permanent space held in France and return to Ireland to allow her recovery continue and strength return. Her vision is to return to complete the body of work known as The Return...which she commenced over three years ago. The Gallery space will reopen when a suitable venue is found.
