Here is a link to the  tragic, yet beautiful story of how the Angel of the Innocent came about which became known as Three days in September. For me it was one of the most touching and poignant experiences in my early years of working with Spirit as an artist. During these times I feel it is important to reflect. for the full story please go to https://giftsforthesoulbylorrie.com/.../three-days-in...https://fb.watch/9oA2tWW7Pi/

All VII Sounds only arrived back in Ireland during the past month. It has been a journey since their creation in clay. Many have shared this journey with us and we are very grateful. We were fortunate to be asked by local sculptress and artist to join them in a show over the Christmas. A beautiful venue to make a return to Ireland.

Order for Bronze of The VI Sound by Lorraine Coffey

Added Jan 6, 2015

Hello Dear friends, I wish you all a very happy New Year and hope that you were able to have a break over the past weeks. It is the first real break that we have taken in a very long time.

Our news from just before Christmas was an order we received for The VI Sound in Bronze. Here are some pictures of her journey to the Foundry at Laurgais. /media/cache/resolve/standard/l/o/lorraine-coffey/blog/12124_dsc-0058.jpg

The process from start to completion will take most of three months. The first part will be taking a mould from the original clay piece and then I will have to make the journey to see the results of the cast in wax sometime in January. Small adjustments can be made at this stage. the next process of creating the bronze and doing the patina will take me up to March. I do enjoy being involved in every stage of the process.

Currently I am working on smaller pieces which I will share with you very soon.

The Seventh Sound

Added Nov 18, 2014

Today I have added the Seventh Sound - a work in clay as part of a body of work of Seven to the web site. I have been really touched by the great support I am getting from my fellow artists. We all know the challenges of remaining true to our work. I hope that you again are moved by this piece. I am working on a piece which will become the guardian to this body of work and will keep you updated as to the progress.

I commenced work on the VII Sound after returning from the exhibition in New York at the Ward Nasse Gallery where the two bronzes still remain. If you are interested in visiting the ward nasse gallery to see the bronzes over the weeks ahead the address is  Prince Street, New York .

I am also working on a written piece on what inspired me to create this body of work and will publish this here over the coming weeks.

my artists statement

Added Nov 9, 2014

Today I feel drawn to blogging my statement as an artist. That which inspries me as an artist since 2000 and as a sculpture since 2012.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT

"For it is the sound of stillness within Nature that captures the very essence of my soul."   Lorraine Coffey

It calls me to delve deeper and deeper within myself. To uncover the Truth of whom I am. Not only to experience that which exists outside of me but more importantly that which exists deep within me... so that I and the Truth of my being may be the "cause" of what I experience in this world.

This gift of Life is not only to experience the material world but to go within and uncover the limitless spirit that we each are. It is through the unending melody of Nature and the living prayer that is sounded at all times back to the creator, that I am called to traverse the doorway of my soul and enter into and join with this harmonic eternal love song. In gratitude I acknowledge the expansiveness and beauty of existence.  It is in this dimensional space of stillness and weightlessness, between spirit and matter, that I may experience timelessness and become one with the beauty and power of the creative force and therefore I am called to sound the sound and the truth of my eternal being.

I have no formal training as an artist or sculpture but through my love of Nature and stillness and my desire to know the Truth, I have been led to express my findings through sculpture. My first body of work in clay began in 2012. I see this as my lifetime's work which I with great reverence and humility present to you as:

"The Return" incorporating the first body of work to be known as The VII Sounds- that which sounds the Sound of Creation.

In 2012 Lorraine was inspired to commence a new body of work in clay…to be called The Return… This new work has become her passion and she sees it as her mission for the foreseeable future. The first body of this work known as The VII Sounds.  The seven heads will be cast in bronze and porcelain. Lorraine is honored to exhibit two bronzes from the series no’s II and VI at the Ward-Nasse Gallery in New York in 2014. She is also exhibiting in Toulouse, France. Lorraine’s vision for the VII Sounds is to have a permanent exhibition whereby the VII will be shown together along with a life size guardian as the eight piece.

The VII Sounds represent the dimensions which Lorraine accesses in her search for truth. She sees these attributes as a calling from creation to return to our true and natural state of being. It is from this consciousness of acknowledging and allowing these vibrations/sounds to become us, that mankind may return to a state of balance and harmony with creation.  Thus creating from a place of beauty and love.

Original piece in clay heading to Canada

Added Nov 7, 2014

Yesterday we spent a busy day at our foundry in Lauragaise www.fonderie-lauragaise.com. We brought an original piece called "The Coming" to be packed and shipped to a customer in Canada. She is such a delicate piece that so much care has to be taken in packing and boxing for her journey across the Atlantic. We returned to find a great response from our facebook friends to our posts and on the work we have done to our new website www.artmajeur.com/lorraine-coffey and the picture of the original piece. The original pieces are all kept safely here at the Gallerie des Anges in Alet les Bains while we wait work to start on protecting them by taking silicone moulds before the bronzes are poured. The process is known as lost wax.

Added Nov 4, 2014

Hi everyone,

We spent the past days updating our web site and hope you like the results. The two bronze works remain at the Ward Nasse Gallery, 178 Prince Street, Soho, New York 10012 and I have just finished work on the VII Sound. All seven are now complete in their original clay format and I will soon have a photo of the VII Sound ready to upload to this site. The next stage will be to have moulds made and then to bronze. The whole process from starting the first piece has taken over a year and half thus far. I just Love this work and look forward to having them on display in about a years time. Yes that's how long it takes to go from their current state to bronze. Back soon with more news. Lorrie xxx
